Democrat Michael Day is the State Representative for the 31st Middlesex District, representing the towns of Stoneham and Winchester. The sixth of seven children, Michael was born in Winchester Hospital and now lives in Stoneham with his wife Megan and their three sons, Conor, Ryan and Finnegan. The Days are active members of their community, where Michael has coached for Stoneham Youth Hockey more than a decade and Megan currently serves as Executive Director of the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce. Michael is from here, and he chose to raise his family here because he understands that the people making up our communities are what make our towns so special.
Michael graduated from Phillips Academy and UMass-Amherst before earning his law degree from Georgetown University, where he attended the night division while working a full-time job in Washington, D.C. He knows that the keys to the success of our towns are strong public schools that teach our children the value of hard work and the importance of social justice – not schools that just teach our children to pass tests. Michael worked for nearly ten years as a trial attorney with the firm of Mintz Levin in Boston. He also served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County. In 2012, Michael and his partners launched their own law firm, Torres, Scammon, Hincks & Day, LLP, where he has been recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in each of the past six years. As a small business owner, he knows firsthand the challenges we face in the private sector and has dedicated himself to reigniting our economy and increasing wages for all of us.
